Jonas Brothers Live & Mobile: 6 Million Video Views in 36
Hours!
On August 15-16 2008, MTV utilized the Flixwagon platform to cover the
album tour of tween sensations Jonas Brothers. Throughout the 36-hour
event, a number of MTV bloggers and reporters made live videos
directly
to the MTV website and TV studio using Nokia phones running the
Flixwagon
application.
During the event, 6 Million video streams were served from the
Flixwagon hosted platform to the MTV website, showing over
60,000 hours of video, and drawing over 90,000 user comments. Clips
made entirely on mobile phones were aired on TV at least twice an hour
during commercial breaks, as well as during three 30-minute
compilations. To the best of our knowledge this was not only
the
biggest live mobile video event worldwide to-date in terms of traffic
and viewers, but also pulled in more
video streams than some of MTV’s leading shows.
More information can be found on the
MTV
website and on our
blog.

Choose or Lose: Super Tuesday Citizen Journalist Coverage
During Super Tuesday February 2008, 23 MTV street reporters were
broadcasting live mobile video to the web and TV throughout the Primary
day, in the
first-ever live mobile to web and TV event on such as scale.
Overall, over 450 videos were broadcast during the day, viewed by
hundreds of thousands via the web, and millions more on TV. Select
videos were aired on MTV every 30 minutes. Flixwagon enabled
MTV
to harness citizen journalism and have high-qualilty real-time video
broadcasting capabiliies on the ground in 23 different states, without
the need to deploy broadcasting trucks and large camera crews.
Following several successful
implementations, we are now working with MTV on additional projects.
